The President of the Republic Joseph Kabila received this afternoon at the State House the resignation of the government headed by Samy Badibanga Ntita since last December.

The Head of state immediately accepted the resignation, as a result of his promise given 24 hours earlier, to appoint a Prime Minister from the Rassemblement in accordance with the agreement signed under the mediation of the bishops of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO). .

The Badibanga government invested in Parliament on 22 December 2016 lasted only three months and two weeks. This government team is a result of the meetings held at Cité de l’Union de Africaine, which led to the signing of the political agreement executed on 18 October.
