Minister of Higher Education and University, Steve Mbikayi, said in a message published on social networks that there was no loss of human life this Monday, September 25, 2017 during the clash between forces of the order and students of the National Pedagogical University (UPN), who were protesting against the teachers’ strike.
« According to information received, during the demonstrations at the UPN on September 25, 2017, there was no death of man. No brainwashing, please! » said Steve Mbikayi on Twitter.
A few hours earlier Steve Mbikayi acknowledged that the « claim » of students did not result to any other record of the injured as reported by other sources, calling students to the calm. « Students are right to claim. We strive to accommodate the wishes of the Professors, in their best interests. In the meantime, please calm down! « .
