The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila, is in Addis Ababa on Sunday, July 2nd, to take part in the 29th African Union summit, which opens Monday, July 3.

Chaired by the President of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Organization, Guinean President Alpha Condé will « look for ways and means to maximize demographic dividends for the benefit of the youth. »

It was also an opportunity for Joseph Kabila to counter Western pressure, in particular with regard to EU sanctions against 9 personalities close to Joseph Kabila who were suspected of hampering the implementation of the New Year’s Eve agreement, Organization of elections at the end of 2017.

It will also address during this summit the reform of the institutions of the African Union.
